Pros - Sharp 2D and 3D images
- Compact size
+ professional handling
+ cheap workflow by using XDCAM EX on SDCH cards
+ flexible assignable
+ sharpness and colors practically at the upper limit of AVCHD
+ Many manual controls
Pros
Cons - little manual control
- wide angle with slight distortions
- poor low-light
- display and viewfinder have a very low resolution
- No zebra function
- no 1/25 sec. shutter speed in cinema mode
- small wide angle
- manual focus control badly implemented
Cons
Conclusion Compared to the previous model the sharpness of the camera has once more been improved, so the camera delivers pleasing images in the automatic mode. The compact size might also be a convincing argument, because nowhere else do you get similar 3-D quality with this camera size.More manual control however is offered by the competition. In addition to the professional focus and features of the camera the XDCAM EX format persuades. The trade-off consists of the no longer up-to-date low-light capabilities, the narrow wide angle and the lens distortion. Also the image stabilizer, as well as the display and viewfinder seem a little out-dated..On the plus side of course you have to add the XLR jacks and the ND filter. In the price range of the estimated 2700 Euro though, these are no unique features, unless one does needs XDCAM EX recording or is looking for CCD sensors.Like its predecessors this cam satisfies with its very good image sharpness and the good manual controlsThe small wide-angle and missing zebra-function must be critizised. In comparison some competitors have notably better displays (Sony SR11/12) and more external manual controls (Sony SR11/12, CX11, Panasonic HS100, SD100).Conclusion
