Pros + excellent image quality
+ Manual handling
+ Exceptionally well equipped
+ LowLight behavior
+ Codec with 4:2:2 50 Mbps
Cons - Expensive SxS-cards
- No ND filter
Conclusion Almost everything that was criticized on the EX1 (mainly concerning the switches/buttons and ergonomics) has been addressed and improved. In its current form, it definitely still plays in the top league in terms of low light performance, handling and functionality, and with its 1/2-inch chip it is one of the "bigger" small ones. The XF100/105 is a compact workhorse that plays off its strength especially in the documentation and news area (less in a scenic environment). Here the camera concept feels quite well thought-through.The lack of a ND filter and the 1/3" chip are our main points of criticism, aside from slight difficulties in the handling, though these of course are partly due to the compact form.
