Pros + Very good image quality impression
+ 20x zoom
+ handling well-conceived
HDMI out
+ 25p
Good wide angle
+ Professional controls
+ genuine 720/50p mode and a variable framerate
- High sharpness
- Very good low light capabilities
Pros
Cons -less Wide-angle than FX1/A1/HVX200
- low sharpness due to pixel shift
- P2 cards are more expensive than tape
- 4:3 display with low resolution
- Image characteristics can not be changed
- few image control options
Cons
Conclusion The Sony HVR-V1 makes the most of the three 1/4-inch CMOS-converter .The brightness resolution is good, the color resolution lacks somewhat. The progressive mode offers more vertical resolution, but shows occasional color artifacts.Low noise and little smear effects together with excellent automatics make for a very good subjective image impression. The 20x lens shows comparatively few errors like aberrations or distortion, but the wide-angle could be larger for this price range.Lowlight performance of the FX7 is good, the plus points being low noise and the optional hyper-gain.Panasonicīs AG-HPX171E scores with its handling and the Leica lens shows very little chromatic aberrations. Thanks to finally cheaper recording cards the AG-HPX171E can be seen as an allround-model suited for both documentary and fiction shooting. But pixel counting searchers for ultimate sharpness will be happier with other models, as will those who do not wish to invest in P2 cards. The resolution of the display is too low.In 2D mode, the TD10 also produces very convincing images, but especially in terms of price and manual control it can not compete with comparable 2D models. Conclusion
