Conclusion The X900 showacases JVCs ability to be one of the frontrunners in the race for sharpness.Until today nobody packed so much sharpness in a body so smallThe colors are a matter of taste.Controls are miseable: the laser-touch panel allows no precise control of parameters.That the nice manual control possibilities are buried deep in sub-menus is not understandable.For everyone filming mainly in auto-mode and wanting to eliminate the need for a digital photo camera, this is the right cam.But for a considerable amount of money.Audio-only recording, Xacti-Library-Function and adjustable ISO are features that the more established rivals lack.Furthermore this camera offers great manual control in combination with the display of relevant parameters such as focus-distance or shutter.Even the low-light performance of the camera is remarkable for this price class.Nonetheless the camera has several flaws, eg. the lacking support for the european 50 HZ standard.Due to the bumpy image stabilisation and the poor automatics the camera is not very suited for newbies who want a simple camera for holiday trips.Ambitious videographers on the other hand will not be able to fully appreciate the manual control due to the handling, and the small wide angle will surely be a nuisance.In terms of sharpness the camera can only compete with its rivals in the 30p-mode.
