Conclusion Audio-only recording, Xacti-Library-Function and adjustable ISO are features that the more established rivals lack.Furthermore this camera offers great manual control in combination with the display of relevant parameters such as focus-distance or shutter.Even the low-light performance of the camera is remarkable for this price class.Nonetheless the camera has several flaws, eg. the lacking support for the european 50 HZ standard.Due to the bumpy image stabilisation and the poor automatics the camera is not very suited for newbies who want a simple camera for holiday trips.Ambitious videographers on the other hand will not be able to fully appreciate the manual control due to the handling, and the small wide angle will surely be a nuisance.In terms of sharpness the camera can only compete with its rivals in the 30p-mode.The effort to get excellent Full HD quality with a small sensor and a small lens packed into a small body proved too hard for other manufacturers too.The options for manual control are hard to use on the GZ-HM200 due to unergonomical menue obstacles.Whats true for all of these minis: if you dont need your cam to be so totally compact you get more picture quality for 100-200 bucks more.
