Conclusion Thanks to its very good lens with digital CAC and outstanding low-light capabilities the Sony PMW-EX3 is momentarily unrivaled in the price range up to 10.000 Euros.Of course, those who can do without the interchangeable lens can go for the cheaper and somewhat more compact EX1.The Canon XHG1s has CCDs with excellent resolution in both brightness and in color.The dynamic behavior can be changed to outstanding values with knee, noise suppression and -3dB gain, which combined with the sober colors ensures a very clean image impression.Only the lens with its 20x zoom shows occasional distortion and chromatic aberrations.Partly due to much noise, the XH G1s is only "good" in low-light situations.
