Cons - No ND filter
-less Wide-angle than FX1/A1/HVX200
Conclusion The XF100/105 is a compact workhorse that plays off its strength especially in the documentation and news area (less in a scenic environment). Here the camera concept feels quite well thought-through.The lack of a ND filter and the 1/3" chip are our main points of criticism, aside from slight difficulties in the handling, though these of course are partly due to the compact form. The Sony HVR-V1 makes the most of the three 1/4-inch CMOS-converter .The brightness resolution is good, the color resolution lacks somewhat. The progressive mode offers more vertical resolution, but shows occasional color artifacts.Low noise and little smear effects together with excellent automatics make for a very good subjective image impression. The 20x lens shows comparatively few errors like aberrations or distortion, but the wide-angle could be larger for this price range.Lowlight performance of the FX7 is good, the plus points being low noise and the optional hyper-gain.
