Conclusion In terms of sharpness, the new camcorders are finally on par again with the generation preceeding its predecessors.The good low light performance and the - for many users - sufficient manual features certainly make the RF M-series interesting for price-sensitive buyers.However, has to live with the small wide-angle, a low-resolution display, missing features such as zebra or histogram as well as the automatics.The GZ-HM1 is leading in the race for sharpness in its 1000 Euro range of 2010 camcorders.Also in low light conditions the camera makes a good impression.In spite of its price tag it is not possible to adjust the colors, which is unfortunate because they remain a matter of taste and are sometimes even on the verge of being critical.The external controls will be interesting for people who like to manually adjust things and be in control.In addition to the inertia of the parameters, the user must decide if a fast white balance or the focus aids should be assigned to the custom key.Because for the other it means diving into the menue via laser touch.Also, the small wide angle is not very inspiring.
