Conclusion Almost everything that was criticized on the EX1 (mainly concerning the switches/buttons and ergonomics) has been addressed and improved.In its current form, it definitely still plays in the top league in terms of low light performance, handling and functionality, and with its 1/2-inch chip it is one of the "bigger" small ones.Thanks to its very good lens with digital CAC and outstanding low-light capabilities the Sony PMW-EX3 is momentarily unrivaled in the price range up to 10.000 Euros.Of course, those who can do without the interchangeable lens can go for the cheaper and somewhat more compact EX1.The Sony PMW-EX1 offers an absolutely convincing technology with virtually all imaginable (and even some innovative) control options.Add to that a very good lens which thanks to a digital CAC rarely shows chromatic aberrations.The lowlight performance of the camera is currently a class for itself.Conclusion
